I have been fascinated with the Post Office Tower since my parents came to London on an "If This is Tuesday It Must Be Belgium"-type trip in 1970-ish. I still have a postcard they brought back
I was lucky enough to win the ballot for a place to visit with London Open House this year (2018). We took the bus down (from Camden Town) and walked through Fitzroy Square. Love the juxtaposition of old and new.
it rained that day and the day before but cleared up by the time of entry, a puddle reflection in Fitzroy Square
the views were spectacular, close enough to see detail but high enough to see far, looking east, UCH, UCL, St Pancras, Crick Institute and beyond
Senate House, British Museum, Centre Point, the City and the Shard
Looking north to Regent's Park.
Fitzroy Square
elevator at the 34th floor
when we arrived it was full daylight, now the sun is just starting to go down and shadows are forming
looking south, Centre Point, London Eye
Euston Tower and Regent's Park
moonrise over the City and Shard beyond the British Museum and Senate House, lights starting to come on
lights on now, Shard, London Eye illuminated
looking west to the last of the sunset
sadly the visit came to an end, it was full dark by then
last look up as we were leaving, we were lucky enough to have views from full daylight to sunset to night
last look from Fitzroy Square
